The Malta Billiards and Snooker Association

The Malta Billiards and Snooker Association (MBSA) was founded in 1935 to promote Snooker and Billiards, organize related events at all levels and raise and maintain the necessary funds to ensure the long term success of the game.

The MBSA is currently affiliated to the Malta Olympic Committee (MOC), The European Billiards and Snooker Association (EBSA) and the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF). It is currently made up of the President, Mr. Frans Bugeja, and 8 Council Members, elected every 2 years.

The MBSA has circa 180 registered amateur players grouped into different divisions such as Premier Division Snooker and 1st Division Snooker. All these players can be found on our website, in the "Registered Associated Players" section.

April 30, 2008 - DUNCAN BEZZINA WINNER OF THIRD RANKING TOURNAMENT

Before a good sized croud at Melita B.C Msida Duncan Bezzina of Juventutis Domus Zeitun became the winner of the third ranking tournamet organised by MBSA,after beating the Malta reigning Champion and number one player in Malta Alex Borg by 5 frames to 2.

The match was contolled by Mr.Emeric Ellul.

The MBSA is taking part in the Malta Sicily Friendship Games organised by the Malta Olympic Committee between 1st and 4 th May,2008,

All matches are going to be played at Peace band Club Naxxar Friday 2 May from 6.00 pm till 9.00 pm while on Saturday the games will be played between 10.00 pm and 5.00 pm at the same venue.

The Maltese players taking part are Duncan Bezzina and Mario Brincat.

April 20, 2008 - THURSTON GRIXTI MALTA U/19 CHAMPION

Before a good sized crowd at Count Roger B.C.Rabat Thurston Grixti defeated Aaron Busuttil by the odd frame in seven,after trailg 0-2 when the first two frames where played. Thurston won the third and fourth frame,but again Aaron Busuttil won the fifth,and Thurston levellin the score by winn the sixth frame. In the decidin frame Grixti emerged the winner in a highly fought out game whichh augur well for both youngsters. Frame score (thurston first )32-65,52-56,48-39,63-42,40-49,67-35,77-27.
